Home is where the work is
Today I get to do what many office workers would love to do if only they could - I get to work from home.
Armed with my trusty laptop (and a creaky internet connection) I've been updating the Herald websites from the sanctity of my home in Molesey today.
It's a lot easier to grab a snack or a cuppa, I do miss the office banter.
The reason for my stay-at-home status is that my partner is in hospital and could give birth any day now. So I'm staying home to look after our 15-month-old and may need to rush off to hospital at any point. So if this blog ends suddenly, that'll be why!
Although my partner is not due until November she has contractions (or possibly Braxton Hicks?) and because child number one was nine weeks early, and born in under an hour, the docs are keeping her in.
Part of my routine, had I been in the office today, would have been to go on Brooklands FM at 1pm to discuss the news in this week's Herald & News papers.
In my place went Mark Goode (who did the show with me on my second week) and Ed Saunt, who as far as I know has never done any broadcasting before. I'm pleased to report that both did a great job and picked some really good stories to talk about.
As I said, the show is every Wednesday at 1pm, but don't worry if you missed it, because the programme is available on Brooklands' website from Thursday. Have a listen.

Ah the joys of working from home, both a blessing and a curse (depends on the home I guess).
Congrats on doing some good radio nattering on brooklands, I listened to the broadcast as I get it delivered to my itunes every week now. I admit I had a vested interest in that episode and was VERY happy to hear I was mentioned for a couple of minutes:)
I may at some point do the main staff at your offices at Staines News and maybe even at some point at Brooklands FM, its just a matter of finding time really.
Keep up the great work.
